The frames come in a variety of colors and textures, including Italian acetate and python skin. Femie frames are based on the distance between both pupils to accommodate women with unique facial structures and the frame arms bow at the temple for additional comfort.

Eschenbach introduces telescope mounting adapter with adhesive ring

Danbury, CT-Eschenbach recently introduced a new telescope mounting adapter that allows select monocular telescopes to be mounted to eyewear without drilling into the lens.

The adapter is threaded on the inside and will accommodate any of the Eschenbach’s Galilean monocular telescopes. It features a strong adhesive ring that affixes to the lens surface, and it includes thin foam layer between the adapter and the adhesive ring to make a secure seal. The telescope mounting adapter is suitable for single-vision spectacle lenses with a front plano base curve of up to +12.00 D.

The mounting process is fairly simple: mark the front of the lens where you want the telescope mounted; copy the mark on the back of the lens; thoroughly clean the front side of the lens; screw the telescope into the adapter; remove the protective paper over the adhesive ring on the adapter and then affix the adapter with telescope onto the outside of the lens. The package includes 2 telescope mounting adapters as well as 2 replacement adhesive rings.

The eyecare professional can use this test to validate the patient's complaints of poor vision in glare conditions.

The test was co-developed with Optometry Times Editorial Advisory Board member Stuart Richer, OD, PhD.
