International Vision Expo announces changes for Vision Expo West’s 25th anniversary show

See what will be coming at this year’s 25th Vision Expo West show. Dr. Kirk Smick shares details.

In addition to celebrating its 25th anniversary, Vision Expo West will feature come changes at this year’s show. Chair of International Vision Expo’s Conference Advisory Board and Optometry Times Editorial Advisory Board Member Kirk Smick, OD, FAAO, outlines what attendees will see in Las Vegas this fall.

The meeting will focus on 4 key areas of interest:

• Business solutions

• Clinical/medical

• Optical technology

• Contact lenses

Among new initiatives this year is a Young Professional Club for ODs who have graduated optometry school 5 or fewer years ago. Also, attendees will find a dedicated showcase for non-traditional vision technologies.

Education highlights include:

• 14-hour glaucoma track

• 9-hour track debuting nutraceuticals

• 9-hour track on healthcare reform and government regulations

• 6-hour spectacle lens specialist mini track

Vision Expo West will be held October 2-5 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas.
