Niles, IL-M&S Technologies’ Smart System 20/20 Visual Acuity Testing System is now being manufactured in the US, the company announced recently. While the system has always been designed and developed in the U.S., it is now also manufactured in Niles, IL.

Joe Marino, president of M&S Technologies, said: “Not only does manufacturing locally help provide jobs and grow the American economy, it gives us much better control over the quality and performance of the Smart System. We’re no longer beholden to the shifts and changes made by the big-box manufacturers.”

The all-in-one 22-inch LCD and computer is built with precision using industrial-grade hardware. The system enables eyecare professionals to perform a range of comprehensive vision tests, including contrast sensitivity testing, low vision testing, testing under glare conditions, electronic ETDRS, and dynamic fixation disparity testing. All the tests and protocols on the Smart System 20/20 have been peer-reviewed and field-tested for accuracy by industry leaders. The technology is certified and calibrated to the ANSI and ISO specifications for vision testing.
