Nearly three-quarters of subjects fitted with the senofilcon A multifocal contact lens (CL) for presbyopia (Acuvue Oasys, Johnson & Johnson Vision Care) rated it successful after initial fitting and 1-week follow-up, according to a recent study.

The study involved 206 soft contact lens wearers, whom investigators fit with senofilcon A multifocal CL. Those who were unsuccessful at 1 week were refit into each practitioner's choice among these alternative lenses: PureVision multifocal (Bausch & Lomb), Acuvue Bifocal (Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc.), SofLens multifocal (Bausch & Lomb), or Proclear multifocal (CooperVision).
