Shamir Optical announced Friday that it will become a shareholder in Blink Technologies.

As part of its partnership, Shamir will provide insight and expertise for sales development, customer service, as well as research and development, according to a news release.

The company hopes to collaborate with Blink and boost research and development capabilities.

“We use our proprietary AI-based, eye-tracking software solution to simplify ophthalmic measurement processes,” said Blink CEO Oren Yogev, in a statement. “We hope to contribute to Shamir’s continued leadership in the ophthalmic lens design and manufacturing industry.”

Through this new partnership, Shamir intends to collaborate with Blink and boost its research and development capabilities.

Blink has developed patented software used for human eye tracking solutions for single-eye or multiple behavioral metrics and visual attention by way of “gaze tracking,” which is a process where users’ eye movements infer actions as to what users would like to undergo without having to click a button, according to the company.
