AADO renamed Union of American Eye Care Providers

American Association of Doctors of Optometry has announced that it has officially renamed itself to the Union of American Eye Care Providers.

Agoura Hills, CA-American Association of Doctors of Optometry has announced that it has officially renamed itself to the Union of American Eye Care Providers.

According to Craig S. Steinberg, OD, JD, the organization’s executive director, the AADO’s new name better conveys the purpose and goals of the organization. In a statement, Dr. Steinberg says, the new name “makes clear that the issues of third-party control and their illegal and oppressive actions extend beyond just optometry, impacting all providers of eye care, and also helps providers understand that the organization is quite distinct from the American Optometric Association (AOA) and does not conflict or compete with the vital role the AOA plays in representing the profession of optometry.”
