Alcon showcasing lens parameter, contact lens and dry eye portfolio updates at AOA 2026
Expanded astigmatism parameters are expected for PRECISION1, PRECISION7, and TOTAL30 contact lenses.
Among other updates within the company that will be showcased during The American Optometric Association (AOA) meeting 2026, Alcon has announced that it will introduce expanded astigmatism parameters for PRECISION1, PRECISION7, and TOTAL30 contact lenses. The additions span daily, weekly, and monthly replacement modalities and are intended to provide eye care professionals with broader fitting options for patients with astigmatism.
According to the company, expanded parameter availability may help improve first-fit success, reduce refits, and increase flexibility across a wider range of prescriptions. Alcon stated that, with the expanded parameters, including TOTAL30 for Astigmatism, the lenses will cover 99% of astigmatic eyes. The company also said TOTAL30 for Astigmatism now offers the most readily accessible parameters among leading monthly replacement toric brands.
“The future of eye care depends on innovations that help practitioners care for more patients across a wider range of vision and ocular surface needs,” said Carla Mack, OD, MBA, FAAO, DipAAO, FBCLA, Head of Global and US Professional Education and Development at Alcon, in the release. “From expanded toric parameters to emerging approaches in dry eye, continued innovation is creating new opportunities to improve patient care and fitting success.”

Alcon also announced plans to showcase updates across its contact lens and dry eye portfolios at the conference, including scientific presentations related to Tryptyr (acoltremon ophthalmic solution) 0.003% and an interactive educational exhibit.
“In practice, a lack of parameter options can be a barrier to fitting some astigmatic patients in contact lenses,” said Torrey J. Carlson, OD, multi-practice owner and founder of Dr. Torrey J. Carlson & Associates, in the release. “The expanded toric parameters will be instrumental in making it easier to find the right fit, streamline appointments, and ultimately help more patients fit in lenses.”
Alcon will also feature Tryptyr, a TRPM8 receptor agonist indicated for the treatment of the signs and symptoms of dry eye disease. The company said attendees will have opportunities to learn more about the therapy and its role in dry eye management. In addition, Selina R. McGee, OD, and colleagues will present results from a proof-of-concept study evaluating lipid layer thickness in subjects with evaporative dry eye disease (DED).
The company will also highlight PRECISION7, its weekly replacement contact lens within the WaterInnovations portfolio. Alcon noted that the lens incorporates its ACTIV-FLO System, which combines an embedded moisturizing agent with a replenishing agent designed to moisturize the lens surface over 7 days.
At Booth #643, Alcon will debut its WaterInnovations Immersive Experience, an interactive installation designed to demonstrate the science and technology behind its contact lens portfolio. The exhibit will feature scheduled presentations throughout the meeting.
In addition, Alcon will host and sponsor several educational programs during AOA 2026, including symposia focused on DED, astigmatism correction, and practice management. Information about the company’s scientific presentations and meeting activities is available through Alcon’s professional events website and at its exhibit booth.
