Key Points

SynergEyes Inc. expands the parameters of its multifocal hybrid contact lens to address patients with emerging presbyopia seeking binocular visual acuity.

The lens now is available in a +0.75 D add power in addition to the three add powers (+1.25, +1.75, and +2.25 D) previously offered. The addition of the +0.75 D add will provide a contact lens option for presbyopia.

The multifocal hybrid contact lens combines two materials-a rigid gas permeable center and a soft, hydrophilic outer skirt. The result is a durable hybrid lens that offers high-definition vision, stability and centration, and all-day comfort. The concentric, center-near design of the multifocal lens concentrates optics within two distinct areas of focus: one for distance and one for near to provide simultaneous vision at all points of focus.
