On Wednesday, IDOC announced that all active inventory management accounts will receive an additional 10 for 10 rebate in hopes of enhancing operational health and financial success of independent practices. This benefit is part of a larger initiative to drive ethical buying behavior within the frame industry. Alliance membership is not required to enroll in the service.

“We believe in independent optometry and bringing forward practice solutions to help independent owners live the practice of their dreams,” explains Oliver Spandow, chief operating officer of IDOC. “Services like IDOC inventory management, executed by industry and technical experts with a combined 65+ years of experience, is one way we support practices in prioritizing their time and maximizing their profitability.”

All IDOC services, including inventory management, are available for all independent practices, regardless of alliance affiliation. They work with all brands and lean on long-term relationships to simplify the frame buying process.

New partners to the program include:

  • A&A Optical
  • Alternative and Plan B Eyewear
  • Etnia Barcelona
  • Kasperek Optical
  • L’Amy America
  • MODO
  • OGI Eyewear
  • Wiley X

The inventory management initiative is designed to benefit practices, manufacturers, and sales representatives. The program offers weekly reorder, a dedicated optical consultant, semiannual cycle counts, and open-to-buy and cost of goods management.

“I believe in the three-legged stool. Everything we do in IDOC inventory management, must benefit the independent practice, the manufacturer, and the rep in the field,” says Susan Daly, director of optical strategy and development for IDOC. “IDOC inventory management is the solution—alliance impartial and brand agnostic, retail and optical specific expertise, and flexibility for opticians and optical managers to focus on what matters, their patients. IDOC inventory management is a one-of-a-kind service in the industry, aimed at helping independent practices make the most of their retail space, increase average revenue per patient, and right-size their assortment.”
