Optometry Giving Sight names new interim executive director

Optometry Giving Sight has appointed Lois Schoenbrun, CAE (Ret), FAAO, as its interim executive director.

The decision is effective April 11, 2022, the organization announced Thursday.

Schoenbrun previously served as executive director of the American Academy of Optometry and the American Academy of Optometry Foundation from 1996 to 2019.

She is currently president of the Schoenbrun Conuslting, LLC, where she offers fundraising, strategic planning, governance, and executive coaching services to clients such as the Sport and Social Industry Association, the World Council of Optometry, and the World Optometric Foundation, according to a news release.

OGS intends to launch the search for a new executive director in 2022.
