Transitions Optical Inc. has announced the availability of its expanded dispensing guide and is now accepting nominations for its Transitions Awards program.

Chicago-Transitions Optical Inc. has announced the availability of its expanded dispensing guide and is alerting the industry that the company is now accepting nominations for its Transitions Awards program.

The updated dispensing guide includes the entire Transitions family of products and features lens benefits, as well as tips for helping patients select the lenses most appropriate for their lifestyle. Eye-care professionals can order “Your Guide to Dispensing Success” online by e-mail.

Transitions’ Awards program recognizes independent laboratories, eye-care practices, and retailers for their year-long commitment to enhancing vision and changing the way their customers see the world. Up to three finalists will be selected in each of three categories: Transitions Lab of the Year, Transitions Eye-care Practice of the Year, and Transitions Retailer of the Year. Finalists will be announced in December and will be honored at the 2013 Transitions Academy, which will be held January 27-29 at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, FL.

The deadline for nominations is November 2, 2012 and entries will be evaluated in several key areas, including:

• commitment to photochromic growth

• alignment to Transitions Optical and participation in programs and promotions

• marketing initiatives

• education and training efforts

• community involvement
