Jacksonville, FL-Vistakon, a division of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care Inc., has launched an online staff-training program (Office Readiness) to improve efficiencies in the delivery of contact lens services.

The program is designed to integrate new services, tools, and products (Acuvue) in the office setting. Courses are offered in 10-minute sections and feature topics that range from improving patient satisfaction by introducing new contact lens technologies to talking to children and parents about contact lenses. Staff suggest appropriate courses based on their relevance to patients' office and work situations.

"Given the speed at which new products are being introduced to market, and the added challenges of expanding business in a down economy, [the program] is a convenient program to help educate doctors' staff on newly available services and products so that they can immediately and confidently begin using and discussing them with patients," said Peg Achenbach, OD, senior director, Professional & Medical Affairs, Vistakon.

In other Vistakon news, about 400 practitioners also have registered their practices with a complimentary service (Acuminder In-Office) that allows eye-care professionals to sign up patients for reminders about changing contact lenses, buying new lenses, and scheduling eye exams.
