Optometry Times® polled our audience with the following question from October 8, 2021 to October 22, 2021:​ What is your biggest frustration with contact lens fitting?

The poll appeared on optometrytimes.com and was promoted on various social media channels. Results show a majority of responding ODs' biggest frustration with contact lens fitting was losing revenue from patients purchasing lenses elsewhere.

29 ODs responded, in total. Of these:

  • 9 responded "Poor patient compliance with wearing schedules"
  • 2 responded "Poor patient compliance with lens cleaning and disinfection"
  • 4 responded "Troubleshooting contact lens fits"
  • 4 responded "Hassle of contact lens Rx verification"
  • 10 responded "Losing revenue from patients purchasing lenses elsewhere"
