Maria Sampalis, OD, owner of Sampalis Eye Care in Cranston and Providence, Rhode Island, sat down with Optometry Times®' editor Kassi Jackson to talk all-things practice management.

Jackson:

So you mentioned Google, but what tools and or platforms are important to kind of utilize in the digital space?

Sampalis:

Yeah, so they're all intertwined; it's not just one. [And they're] all different.

You want Google, you want Facebook, Instagram, and you want to also do internal marketing eblasts to your to your patient base, as well, to get information out. And I also have a software that does text messages to our patients.

So those are those all 3 all things are intertwined together. And that also helps you with SEO on Google. You have to really be active, you have to be on the different channels, because one person might be more focused on Facebook or whatever, one might be searching on Google for information.

It's really important to be on different channels. You don't have to be on all of them, but the major ones like Instagram, Facebook, blogging website, Google is super important.
