Optometry Times now breaks news on Facebook, Twitter

Article

Optometry Times has established a presence on Twitter at www.twitter.com/Optometry Times and Facebook at www.facebook.com/OptometryTimes.

North Olmstead, OH-Optometry Times, the leading source of optometric news, has established a presence on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/OptometryTimes and Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/OptometryTimes

"We've found there is so much happening in optometry and in the ophthalmic industry that we could not keep up with all of it with a print publication, Web site, and e-newsletter," said Rich Kirkner, editor-in-chief of Optometry Times

"Social media is giving us an opportunity to push out more news that's meaningful to optometrists more frequently than we could otherwise," Kirkner said.

"Our goal is to keep optometrists informed of the fast-paced changes that are buffeting the profession, and to give them the tools to adapt to those changes," Kirkner said. "Following Optometry Times on Twitter and liking us on Facebook are just two ways ODs can keep themselves better informed of those changes."
