VSP Vision, Vision One Credit Union create loan program for private practices

The loans can be used for practice expansion and renovations, purchases of existing practices, funding for retinal imaging equipment, and more.

A new selection of loan options is available for eye care private practice owners.1 VSP Vision and Vision One Credit Union have recently partnered up to create a new loan program for practices looking to accelerate their growth opportunities, according to a news release. The loans can be used for practice expansion and renovations, purchases of existing practices, funding for retinal imaging equipment, and more.

To date, Vision One Credit Union has provided $193 million in loans over the past 22 years.1

“Doctors have told us they need access to capital to grow and expand their business. With loans designed specifically with private practice in mind, Vision One Credit Union is another example of how we’re providing private practice doctors with unique opportunities that support their goals and long-term success,” said VSP Vision Chief Provider and Industry Solutions Officer Michelle Skinner in the release. “Programs like this highlight VSP’s commitment to deliver unmatched support, value, and stability every step of the way.”

Through the program, special loan reductions will also be provided for practices participating in the VSP Premier Edge program, which features a 0.6% interest rate reduction on retinal imaging equipment loans. PECAA Max members will also receive a 1% interest rate reduction on all loan types.1

“For decades, Vision One Credit Union and VSP Vision have delivered specialized loan options to support private practice doctors throughout their career,” said Robert Schultz, president and CEO of Vision One Credit Union, in the release. “With these new loan offerings, we’re proud to provide doctors with funding solutions that meet the unique needs of their practices so they can grow and thrive.”

In addition to the loan program, VSP Premier Edge is also launching other campaigns and initiatives to help private practice owners, such as the VSP Premier Edge Marketing Campaign, Vision Rescue, and the Alcon VSP Patient Rebate. The marketing campaign is a national digital advertising initiative that will highlight the benefits of choosing a Premier Edge practice and the offerings they provide. These include the Premier Edge Promise, an eyewear guarantee that allows patients to replace their glasses at no cost to the practice, and rebates on contact lenses and eyewear savings. This national campaign will run from September to November through digital display ads, digital video, and social media.1

Vision Rescue will aim to help practices access a turnkey platform that features a variety of OTC eye care products, in-office kiosks, and patient ordering technology. This further allows eye care providers to remain knowledgeable in recommending and distributing treatments, improving patient follow-through, and differentiating their practice from others in local markets, according to VSP.1

The Alcon patient rebate is stackable for VSP patients with the ability to save up to $325 on select Alcon WaterInnovations contact lenses when they purchase an annual supply of eligible Alcon lenses from a provider participating in Premier Edge.1

VSP Vision has also shown its support for private practices through the extension of its Vision Exam Rebate and price stabilization despite tariffs, according to the company. The exam rebate, which was launched mid-2023, has been extended through 2026.1 Additionally, Marchon and Altair product prices will not rise through the end of 2025.2

“Additionally, Marchon and Altair have begun introducing over 100 new styles at lower price points that will become available this year,” the company said in a statement.2 “These frames can be fully covered by vision insurance frame allowances so that VSP members and consumers can maximize their vision benefits.

“We remain dedicated to the long-term success of the profession and to offering affordable, high-quality products for you and your patients.”
